Scalar Fields at Finite Densities: a Δ Expansion Approach

چکیده
We use an optimized hopping parameter expansion (linear δ-expansion) for the free energy to study the phase transitions at finite temperature and finite charge density in a global U(1) scalar Higgs sector in the continuum and on the lattice at large lattice couplings. We are able to plot out phase diagrams in lattice parameter space and find that the standard second-order phase transition with temperature at zero chemical potential becomes first order as the chemical potential increases. 1 Motivation In this talk we will tackle phase transitions in the U (1) or O(2) model at finite temperature and chemical potential. The work sketched out here can be found in the papers [1], [2] and builds on that set out in [3] for the case of zero temperature and zero chemical potential. We are considering the statistical partition function

Casimir effects of nano objects in fluctuating scalar and electromagnetic fields: Thermodynamic investigating
Casimir entropy is an important aspect of casimir effect and at the nanoscale is visible. In this paper, we employ the path integral method to obtain a general relation for casimir entropy and internal energy of arbitrary shaped objects in the presence of two, three and four dimension scalar fields and the electromagnetic field. For this purpose, using Lagrangian and based on a perturb...
متن کاملFinite temperature correlation function of two dissipative massive scalar fields: Thermofield approach
The present paper aims at investigating the manner of two dissipative massive scalar fields. Two massive scalar fields that interact with a reservoir were considered and a reservoir was modeled by continuum Klein-Gordon fields. The Lagrangian of the total system was canonically quantized and the dynamics of the system was determined using the Euler-Lagrange equation. Then, the explicit form of the...
متن کاملδ-Expansion at Finite Temperature
We apply the δ-expansion perturbation scheme to the λφ4 self-interacting scalar field theory in 3+1 D at finite temperature. In the δ-expansion the interaction term is written as λ(φ2)1+δ and δ is considered as the perturbation parameter. We compute within this perturbative approach the renormalized mass at finite temperature at a finite order in δ. The results are compared with the usual loop-...

متن کاملNonperturbative calculation of symmetry breaking in quantum field theory
A new version of the delta expansion is presented, which, unlike the conventional delta expansion, can be used to do nonperturbative calculations in a self-interacting scalar quantum field theory having broken symmetry. We calculate the expectation value of the scalar field to first order in δ, where δ is a measure of the degree of nonlinearity in the interaction term. Typeset using REVTEX 1 In...
